Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities during the rental period. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To hire a vehicle in Kent, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, with additional fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid full driving license, appropriate for the selected vehicle category, is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must also be provided. Any other requirements will be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Terms
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Dartford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually payable upon vehicle pickup. All pricing is listed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where applicable. Major credit and debit cards are accepted, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when you received it, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur additional charges. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply for lower levels. Late returns could result in extra charges, so please inform us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. You can find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to minimize your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless you choose additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls under your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on your booking type and the notice provided. For precise information, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Late cancellations or failure to show may incur charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Your Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to others is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, the vehicle should not be used beyond its intended design, including exceeding passenger or weight limits, or operating outside of the designated geographical area without prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may arise from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the rental amount you paid in the prior 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraudulent acts.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
